Brief History of Adams 14

" As an entity for school governance, Adams County School District 14 is more than 100 years old. It traces its inception to a one-teacher school founded in 1871.

The modern history of the district begins in 1947 and 1948 when the following Adams County units reorganized to become today's Adams County School District 14: Adams City Union Hill and School District 97 (Irondale).The school system is comprised of one 9-12 high school, one alternative high school, two 6-8 middle schools, and seven K-5 elementary schools."
